Testimonials

‘I can whole-heartedly recommend Charlotte. As an editor, she was there with me every step of the way through a large and complex project that required multiple rounds of editing. Her insights into both granular detail and overarching matters of narrative, theme, character and plot were invaluable, and always communicated clearly and supportively. She encouraged me to think about my work in new ways that benefited the novel immensely, and also contributed to my own development as an author. I felt I could come to her with ideas or concerns, and she was always incredibly responsive and encouraging. You could not find a better champion than Charlotte for your work’
Cailean Steed, author of The Mirror Halls (2027)

‘I couldn’t recommend Charlotte more. She is an extremely supportive, creative and detail-oriented editor who was there for me in every stage of the process – from structurally, to shaping the bigger ideas and plot points of the novel, to the nuances of individual characters and ways of speaking. Indeed, I felt she got to know the characters as well as I did, and championed their weirdness and idiosyncrasies even as she put forward so many wonderful new ideas and challenged me to think about my novel in new ways. My editing experience was an encouraging and collaborative one, and I feel endlessly confident in saying that your work will be safe in Charlotte’s hands’
Aimée MacDonald, author of The Last Witch on the Knock

‘It was an absolute delight to be guided by Charlotte’s faultless expertise. Not only was the brief ready and coherent from the very start, I was also given lots of creative freedom whilst following a clear line of direction. Charlotte was an excellent communicator, fast to respond to any queries I had – whilst also really open to my own ideas on the content. I felt championed and valued as an artist when working with Charlotte; she made sure I was given proper accreditation for my illustration work in the book and was just so supportive of my work as the project evolved. Charlotte is an asset to any team’
Rosie Yates, Illustrator, The Little Book of Miriam

‘I owe so much to Charlotte’s careful and imaginative editing of The Shapeshifter’s Daughter. She is a meticulous editor who also respects an author’s instincts and is brilliant at getting the best out of us. I will always be grateful for the gentle push she gave me to expand the Norse universe in this novel in ways I might not have dared to do without her’
